Hyfrecator

Osmometer

Purpose: Used to destroy cutaneous lesion (both superficial and deep) and
controls surgical bleeding

Usage: An electrode is placed on the skin and the Hyfrector will generate an electric current to burn away unwanted tissues

Portable: Yes (depending on model)

Parts:

  • Electrodes
  • Remote-controlled reusable switcing pencil

The Hyfrecator generates a controlled electrical discharge of high radio frequency and high voltage. Damaged or diseased tissues are burnt and destroyed by the electric current.

The instrument also can be used as an electrical knife. In this case, minimal bleeding occurs.

  • The Hyfrecator delivers rapid, precise destruction of all types of cutaneous malformation
  • Small lesions can be treated without anaesthesia
  • Broad surgical applications, including dermatology, dental and oral surgery, gynaecology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, proctology, urology, and podiatry

  • Treatment with Hyfrecator is painful
  • Post-treatment pitted scars usually form as a result of use of the Hyfrecator

  • Dessication (shrank and dried the tissues)
  • Coagulation (stopped bleeding)
  • Culguration (uses a small spark gap to destroy tissue and leave only a small carbonized mass behind)
