Adam Park

During the battle for Singapore, a British regiment steadfastly fought and held their positions at Adam Park for four days until the capitulation on 15th February 1942. The site enabled theories and methods of battlefield archaeology to undergo trials in Singapore. A multidisciplinary project involving architectural historians, conservators, surveyors and of course archaeologists, documented and investigated the residences and gardens of Adam Park in 2011. The project was co-funded by the Singapore Heritage Society and National Heritage Board. Private funding also provided a second season of excavation in January 2013.
